Google keeps on something new to their application or their web services daily and today I will be telling you about a new feature which has been introduced in Gmail and I will also tell you that how will it help you in managing your mails and staying away from disturbing mails. You can call this new feature as ‘Smart Mute’. Google introduced Mute in Gmail so that you can stay away from the mails which are not of any use to you. Sometimes it happens that you might have got caught under a huge conversation between your friends and I want to stay out of it or sometimes you may have prescribed a wrong mailing list. Now in both the cases you will never want your inbox to be populated with these useless unread mails. So you can go for using Mute option (Please note that this option is not present as the default option in your Gmail, you will have to enable it in the Google Labs and then you can use it.) Problem with the earlier version of Mute was very simple. No matter whether you have muted a conversation or not it will pop back in the inbox if it has got your name in the ‘To:’ or ‘Cc:’ list of email addresses. If you want to stay away from them forever then you will have to use filters which will filter all the messages like those. This version of Smart Mute will help you to combine the functionality for Filter and Mute under a single package. In other words, it will mute the messages marked by you and it will not pop those messages again until and unless you are the only person in any of the mail who has been marked in ‘To:’ or ‘Cc:’. It was a genuine problem and they have taken its care very smartly.
